The Chinese art of qigong is based on the idea that we are inseparable from nature, that we are nature, embodied in human form. By connecting to the elements in nature, to the dynamics that shift between them, and the internal resonance to the different parts within us, the practice of qigong enables physical-emotional-mental-spiritual synchronization with our true nature, cultivates our life forces (qi) and supports the process of ongoing healing and renewal. In this course, we will learn the basics of qigong, explore its principles of conscious movement, practice series of movements, and invite attention to our everyday lives.

Tamar Caraso has been a practitioner of qigong for over 20 years. She teaches practice groups and offers courses, retreats and workshops. She also teaches qigong in the two-year program of 'Healing Through Movement' at the Sderot Adama Center in the associate degree program through Sapir College. She volunteers at the day care unit at the Be'er Sheva Mental Health Center. She offers therapy for women in a body-centered emotional process based on mindfulness in her private practice in Sderot and Be'er Sheva. Tamar has completed studies in the Greenberg, tui na, and focusing methods. She is also a student of the Hakomi method, a form of somatic psychotherapy based on mindfulness and experience.
